About TutuBallet Studio
TutuBallet Studio was founded in 2023 with a simple belief: access to quality ballet instruction should not depend on family income. What began as a small volunteer effort has grown into a sustainable program serving over 100 students annually.
The studio operates on a dual-program model that balances social mission with financial sustainability. Free group classes serve students from low-income families at no cost, while premium private lessons provide personalized instruction to any student seeking one-on-one training. This structure allows the program to maintain high-quality instruction while remaining accessible to those who need it most.
Since opening, TutuBallet has provided thousands of hours of free instruction while creating a welcoming community for dancers of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities.
How the Model Works
TutuBallet's dual-program model ensures financial stability while maintaining the charitable mission:
Free Group Classes are subsidized through:
Revenue from premium private lessons
Individual donations
Grant funding
In-kind contributions
Premium Private Lessons generate revenue that covers:
Studio rent and utilities
Equipment and maintenance
Instructor compensation
Free program expansion
This approach allows the program to operate independently without relying solely on unpredictable grant cycles or donation campaigns. When students book private lessons, they receive exceptional personalized instruction while directly supporting free classes for students facing financial barriers.
